About HTX Black Tennis Club
HTX Black Tennis Club is a Houston-based tennis and social community created to make the game feel more welcoming, accessible, and culturally connected.
We bring together players of all backgrounds and skill levels to learn, compete, build relationships, and enjoy tennis in an environment rooted in community. Whether someone is picking up a racquet for the first time or looking for more opportunities to develop their game, our goal is to create a space where every player feels supported, seen, and encouraged.
Through weekly clinics, player development programs, tournaments, social events, wellness experiences, community partnerships, and service initiatives, we are building more than a tennis club. We are creating a lifestyle and a lasting community centered around movement, connection, and culture.

More Than a Tennis Club
HTX Black Tennis Club was built on the belief that tennis can be a powerful vehicle for connection, confidence, wellness, and opportunity.
Here, players do not have to arrive with experience, equipment, or an established tennis network. They simply need a willingness to participate, grow, and become part of the community.
We are intentional about preserving the sophistication and tradition of tennis while creating an experience that feels modern, vibrant, and reflective of the people we serve.
Founder’s Message
HTX Black Tennis Club was created from a simple belief: tennis should feel welcoming, accessible, and culturally connected to the communities that surround the courts. What began as a small effort to bring people together around the game has grown into a vibrant community of players, supporters, and partners who believe in the power of tennis to build relationships, confidence, and opportunity. Every clinic, social event, and community activation reflects our commitment to creating a space where people of all backgrounds can learn the game, find their rhythm on the court, and experience the joy of tennis together.
Our Approach
Our work extends beyond the courts through our partnership with Third Ward Tennis Association, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to tennis in Houston’s historic Third Ward community. While HTX Black Tennis Club focuses on programming, events, and community engagement, the Association works to increase long-term access through youth development initiatives, scholarships, and community tennis infrastructure. Together, these two organizations operate with a shared vision: to ensure that tennis is not only present in our community, but thriving within it.
