Who We Are
-
Aminata Steele, President and Co-Founder
When Aminata relocated to Houston, TX a little over four years ago, she was determined to reconnect with tennis as a means to build community. A DC native--where the Black tennis community is massive--she has always had a genuine love and appreciation for the sport.
Aminata hopes to share her love of tennis with others through curating events and experiences, while creating a support system that is rooted in fellowship and fun—for natives and other transplants alike.

Talia Pennington-Dorsey, Vice-President and Co-Founder
Talia is a proud South Side of Chicago girl who fell in love with tennis the moment she picked up a racquet. She believes tennis isn’t just a sport—it’s a lifestyle, a source of joy, and a powerful tool for building confidence, community, and opportunity.
For Talia, it’s bigger than the game. It’s about making sure the black community have access to the courts, the coaches, the gear, and the love that tennis can bring. Whether she’s rallying with friends, serving up encouragement at local events, or cheering on young players, she’s all about growing the game and opening the gates.
Because everyone deserves a chance to play—and to win.
